British International School of Houston

Baylor University partners with the British International School of Houston to offer the Accelerate Program. Students who are enrolled at BIS Houston are eligible to not only take classes through Baylor University but also may jump to the front of the line for preferred admission to Baylor University through the program.

Program Eligibility

To be eligible to enroll in the BIS Houston’s dual enrollment program with Baylor University, students must:

• Be enrolled full-time
• Be in grades 11-12 (Equivalent to Years 12 - 13 at BIS Houston)
• Have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher
• Meet dual enrollment course prerequisites
• Not be on academic probation
• Be in good financial standing with the BIS Houston
• Have approval from the Head of Secondary School

How to Enroll

1. Students must be enrolled at the BIS Houston to participate in the program. For enrollment details, please see the Admissions page of the school.
2. The BIS Houston Academy Team and Head of Secondary School will work with appropriate departments for approval for a student to enroll in the program.
3. Once approvals are met, the student will be directed to create their goBAYLOR account.
4. Account access will allow a student to complete a unique enrollment form for the course(s).

Costs

• Depending on the high school track a student is accessing at the BIS Houston, costs of $750 per credit hour may be applicable.

Earn Admission to Baylor

Option 1: Rising Senior Summer
A student may be admitted early to Baylor after fulfilling the following:

• Completes 9 course hours in the SUMMER prior to their senior year
• Achieve a cumulative 3.0 GPA on hours earned

Option 2: Junior Year + Rising Senior Summer
A student may be admitted early to Baylor after fulfilling the following 12 hours:

• Completes 3 course hours in the fall of their junior year
• Completes 3 course hours in the spring term of their junior year
• Completes 6 hours during the summer prior to their senior year
• Achieve a cumulative 3.0 GPA on hours earned

Upon completion of option 1 or option 2 and if their school record demonstrates good academic standing throughout high school, students will be considered to have met the academic requirements for admission. They may be admitted early to Baylor after completing an undergraduate admissions application (available each August). Admission is contingent on a review of additional information covering behavioral and conduct issues.
